"With the Rock/Metal sound of the Eighties back in musical vogue, there is a place reserved for Almost Human and they are ready to take up the challenge ".

It's been over 14 years, since iconic Australian Heavy Metal band Almost Human, last played together on the same stage. Some say it's been way too long. Nevertheless, for those who remember and many do, Almost Human dominated the rock\metal scene with a vengeance.

So why after all of these years has the band reformed? After all, things have changed. Music's changed. The fans have changed. And thank god, the fashions changed. It's a digital world now and theirs certainly no shortage of young up and coming bands eager to bleed for their craft. What is it that made Almost Human want to regroup and enter the metal arena all over again?

"The answer is both complicated and relatively simple", says front man Damien Kelly. "It's always been about the timing. We stopped all of those years ago, because we felt that it was time to call it a day. Things had changed, we had changed and in many ways, we simply needed to leave music behind for a while and do other things."

"For the last ten years, we've travelled, married, had babies, worked, ran businesses, met new friends and experimented with other types of music. We've all achieved things that we wouldn't have been able to do, had we still been performing. Nevertheless, there has always been that empty space for all of us and now, once again it's all about the timing. The timing is definitely right for Almost Human to be back together again. I think the band needed that much time apart, just to realise how much we needed to be together".

How do you describe the Almost Human sound? It could be described as being a cross between early  ACDC / Judas Priest and Pearl Jam / The Foo Fighters. However, most would agree that they have their own sound. A sound that can only be described as being very live, very heavy and very memorable.

Almost Human still features four of the five original members. Damien Kelly (vocals), Dave Kennedy (guitars, vocals), Luis Sanchez (bass, vocals) and Chris Tucker (drums, vocals), however, this time they have recruited Master of Puppets front man, Adam Keane on guitars and vocals. "We were very lucky to be able to have Adam join the band and be a part of its growth in this next phase. Apart from his ability as a front man and guitarist for Master of Puppets, he is also a brilliant songwriter and producer. Everybody brings a new set of skills to the table, so this really feels like the best line-up we've ever had. We have so many new plans ahead of us".

With over two decades of history collectively, Almost Human has quite an amazing resume. As well as playing hundreds of shows both here and overseas, and supporting bands such as Whitesnake, Sweet, ACDC, Slade and Cheap Trick, the Humans have racked up over 60 original songs and are still writing new material.

"One of the most exciting challenges ahead for us over the next few months, is to catalogue and record all of our old material. We get so many requests from fans wanting to hear a lot of the old favourites like Krank It Up, Break These Walls and Kamakazee that we have promised to record and release all of the old tracks plus lots of new ones.

When we got back together, we started writing again pretty much straight away. We wanted to make sure that we weren't just remembered for our old stuff. The new stuff has simply been an extension of the way we wrote before, but with a more commercial twist, not unlike The Foo Fighters. "

Speaking of The Foo Fighters, the band managed to get their hands on a demo version of three of Almost Humans songs on their recent Australian tour. The band was so blown away by what they had heard that they used the tracks to get pumped up before their sold-out show at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Dave Grohl stated that it was one of the best demos he ever heard! What a testimonial!

Almost Human is no stranger to the studio, touring or playing live and believes that this time around, there is a waiting market for the very unique sound of ALMOST HUMAN.
